Admissions-2026: 175,000 applicants admitted to the first year

The Ministry of Education and Science announced the completion of the first stage of the admissions campaign. A total of 175,013 people have been admitted to bachelor's programs and medical master's programs, of whom 69,748 will study at public expense.
Higher education institutions in Ukraine have completed the first stage of admissions to bachelor's and medical master's programs — 175,013 applicants have been enrolled in the first year, the Ministry of Education and Science reported, UNN writes.

As of August 14, as stated, the enrollment orders include:
- 165,585 applicants — to bachelor's programs;
- 9,428 — to medical, pharmaceutical, and veterinary master's programs;
- 69,748 — state-funded;
- 105,265 — contract-funded.
In total, during the first wave, applicants received 212,837 recommendations for enrollment in state-funded places and places financed by individuals and/or legal entities. The enrollment requirements were fulfilled for 180,022 applications.
Among the applicants admitted under Quota 2, 6,141 students have been enrolled.
Which priorities did applicants fulfill the requirements under
Most applicants had the opportunity to study under one of their most preferred applications — 85.3% of confirmed applications correspond to the three highest priorities.
Among applicants admitted to state-funded places, the share of the three highest priorities is even greater: of the 70,867 confirmed applications for state-funded places, 66,166, or 93.4%, correspond to the first three priorities. More than 73% of applicants admitted to state-funded places fulfilled the requirements under their first-priority application.
The admissions campaign continues
Applicants who did not receive recommendations or did not confirm them may continue to participate in the competitive selection, but only for vacant contract-funded places. The enrollment of applicants from this group will continue until August 30.
In addition, starting September 1, higher education institutions may hold additional admissions to contract-funded places within the time frames specified in their Admission Rules.
Therefore, if an applicant did not use the entire application limit (this year, up to 10 applications could be submitted, including up to 5 for state-funded places), they may use the remaining slots if the educational institution conducts a corresponding additional admission process.
