The State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) has referred to court the case of a serviceman who sold weapons found at Russian positions. He attempted to sell foreign rifles and grenades for dollars.

The investigation established that while performing combat missions in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation in 2025, the soldier found two foreign-made assault rifles, 152 rounds of ammunition, four grenades with fuses, and a grenade launcher at abandoned enemy positions.
Instead of handing over the found weapons in accordance with the established procedure, he transported them to the location of his unit and began looking for a buyer.
In the city of Krolevets, the suspect first sold one assault rifle for 2,000 US dollars, and later agreed to sell the rest of the weapons to the same buyer.
SBI employees detained the serviceman while he was receiving money during the final transaction. Funds, weapons, and ammunition were seized from him.
The serviceman is accused of illegal storage and sale of firearms, ammunition, and explosives without a legally required permit (Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The sanction of the article provides for up to 7 years of imprisonment.
