A new type of long-range munition hit Kharkiv from a distance of about 90 km, causing numerous casualties, breaking more than 300 windows, damaging residential areas and a school, the first such attack on the city in 2024.
As the head of the Kharkiv military administration, Oleh Syniehubov, confirmed in a telethon , Kharkiv was hit twice with a new type of munition, and no enemy aircraft were spotted in the city or region before the "arrival".
There are many victims; now city services, volunteers and the State Emergency Service are going door-to-door in the area hit by the Russian munition, finding out how many people may be in their homes. It is currently known that at least 300 windows have been smashed, UNN reports .
There were two strikes with a new munition. We have not recorded such facts in Kharkiv before. The approximate distance from which the shell was launched is about 90 kilometers.
The head of the Kharkiv RMA emphasized that the relevant information needs to be clarified. At the same time, Syniehubov noted that no Russian aircraft were spotted in Kharkiv and the region.

That is why volunteer organizations and municipal services are now working in the city to eliminate the consequences of this attack to the maximum extent possible.
Also, as of 6 p.m., it was known that the victims of the Russian shelling of Kharkiv had light or moderate injuries, including 4 children, aged from 3 months to 9 years; they are being provided with all necessary medical care.
As a result of the Russian strike on Kharkiv , one person was killed and 18 were wounded .
