A 44-year-old man was detained in Lviv for beating a 29-year-old police officer to death. The incident occurred on Kobzarska Street, a criminal investigation has been opened.

In Lviv, law enforcement officers detained a man suspected of inflicting grievous bodily harm on a law enforcement officer who was off duty.

Criminal proceedings have been initiated. The 44-year-old Lviv resident faces a sentence of up to ten years in prison for the crime.
The police preliminarily established that the incident occurred on March 29 at about 2:00 a.m. on Kobzarska Street. A 44-year-old Lviv resident, while intoxicated, inflicted bodily injuries on a 29-year-old employee of the Lviv Regional Police, from which he died at the scene. At that time, the law enforcement officer was off duty.
The attacker was detained pursuant to Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine (detention by an authorized official). He has been notified of suspicion of committing a criminal offense under Part 2 of Art. 121 (intentional grievous bodily harm).
The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of seven to ten years. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and the court will soon choose a preventive measure for the suspect.

In the Kamian district of Dnipropetrovsk region, the body of a man was found on the roadside. Police have opened criminal proceedings. As UNN learned from its own sources, the body belongs to ex-vice-mayor and member of the "Batkivshchyna" party, Oleksandr Plakhotnik.
In Kyiv, in Obolon, an unknown person fired shots at a local resident. The shooter was found and detained, criminal proceedings have been opened.
