180 thousand cases of domestic violence recorded in Ukraine: where to seek help

The Ministry of Social Policy has created more than 400 community-based support services to help the victims.
There is a certain percentage of victims among men: especially older men or men with disabilities.
Deputy Minister of Social Policy Ulyana Tokareva told about this during the telethon, UNN reports.

A representative of the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine said that in 11 months of 2024, the police recorded more than 180,000 cases of violence.
We are talking about women and children suffering from domestic violence; there is also a certain percentage of male victims - older and disabled - who are the most vulnerable, the official emphasized.
Uliana Tokarieva emphasized that an information campaign called “Break the Circle” is currently underway on the topic of gender-based violence. The campaign focuses on where to get support if a family is faced with the problem of domestic violence.
Tokareva said the following:
First, all formats are listed on the website of the Ministry of Social Policy and the National Social Service.
The service should work at the community level. The Ministry may provide support, for example, through a cash subvention.
Important: as it turns out , a certain part of the communities, according to Tokareva, do not have services to support the victims.
Although at the same time, the official reported on the creation of several hundred services in recent years in the country.
Over the past few years, we have created more than 400 services at the community level. These are all different services that provide support... Due to this state support, this year communities have purchased 80 cars. And another 20 are being purchased. These are cars for mobile teams.
Now communities are in the process of adopting local budgets. It is very important that council chairmen, deputies, and civil society organizations emphasize the importance of allocating local budget funds for the work of social services, the representative of the Ministry of Social Policy added.
