Russia is preparing a large-scale mobilization, potentially for a new offensive. The direction of the aggressor's actions will depend on the reaction of NATO states.

Zelenskyy warned Baltic states about Russia's plans for large-scale mobilization

Russia may be preparing for a large-scale mobilization, said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, warning the Baltic countries about the threat of an aggressor's offensive, as already happened with Ukraine in February 2022. The Head of State expressed this opinion in an interview on the national telethon, as reported by UNN.

According to the Head of State, the aggressor country is preparing to announce a large-scale mobilization, which will likely cover not only peripheral regions but also large cities, including Moscow and St. Petersburg.

The President outlined two possible scenarios for the aggressor to use such mobilization.

Why conduct such a large mobilization? To repeat the offensive, a large offensive against Ukraine. Option B – to incur fewer costs and less effort and launch a parallel small offensive where fewer combat forces can be used. Why? Because this or that state, for example, the Baltics, is not ready for strong resistance

– said Zelenskyy.

The President of Ukraine concluded that it is about a comprehensive approach.

"Plan A is a large mobilization. And the final direction of action may depend on the reaction of NATO countries," Zelenskyy said.

At the same time, he expressed the opinion that in the event of a potential attack on the Baltic states, the Alliance countries would be forced to react, even despite possible disagreements within the bloc.

"I believe that perhaps not all countries would want to support it, but NATO countries will have no choice, otherwise there will be no NATO," the President emphasized.

Vadym Skibitskyi, Deputy Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, stated in an interview with the Financial Times that Russia is preparing a new ground offensive in southeastern Ukraine and aims to seize the entire Donbas by September. To do this, according to Skibitskyi, Russia is preparing a new ground offensive in southeastern Ukraine, using its strategic reserve to add 20,000 new servicemen to its forces within the country.
