Zelenskyy names Russia's losses this year and Ukrainian successes in the Sumy region border area

Since the beginning of 2024, Russia's losses have exceeded 145,000 personnel. In the border areas of the Sumy region, the Ukrainian military is achieving its designated goals.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that on the front lines in the border areas of the Sumy region, we are achieving defined goals, and we continue to inflict losses on the occupiers in other directions as well, UNN reports.
We discussed the activity at the front in detail with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Thus, since the beginning of 2026, Russian losses at the front have already amounted to more than 145,000 people. Specifically, almost 86,000 killed, at least 59,000 seriously wounded, and more than 800 Russian servicemen taken prisoner. In the border areas of the Sumy region, we are achieving defined goals. We continue to destroy Russian personnel and equipment of the occupiers in other directions as well
The President stated: "I especially want to thank our drone operators for their precision. Active operations continue, for which paratroopers and assault troops deserve recognition. I thank every Ukrainian unit that achieves results!".
