Zelenskyy thanked Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for inviting Ukraine to the NATO summit in Ankara, and the Turkish side for supporting Ukraine's territorial integrity and sovereignty.
During the meeting, the head of state awarded Hakan Fidan the Order of Merit, II degree.
The parties discussed the diplomatic situation and possible steps that could intensify efforts to end the war. Fidan informed the Ukrainian president about Turkey's efforts in this direction.
"We have had several meetings in Turkey, and we really want peace for our country. I hope that together we can do everything to stop this war," Zelenskyy stated.
The president also spoke about the situation on the battlefield, the strengthening of Ukrainian military positions, and the losses of the Russian army. Separately, the parties discussed Ukraine's long-range strikes, sanctions pressure, and public sentiment in Russia ahead of the parliamentary elections, which are to take place in two months.
In addition, Zelenskyy and Fidan discussed the implementation of the free trade zone agreement between Ukraine and Turkey. The Verkhovna Rada ratified the document on July 14.
