White House seeks sponsors to pay for Easter feast: contributions up to $200,000

The White House is looking for corporate sponsors to pay for the Easter banquet. Contributions range from $75,000 to $200,000. This is reported by CNN, reports UNN.

Details

It is noted that according to the document sent to potential benefactors, contributions to pay for Easter events range from $75,000 to $200,000. In addition, the patron must bear the costs of logo and branding development.

According to CNN, attracting sponsors is an unprecedented proposal from the White House. This is contrary to long-established rules prohibiting the use of public office for personal gain.

This is a business event. This isn't your grandmother's Easter egg hunt, where people lined up at the gate, rolled eggs, got a little gift bag, and left.

- said a former official who was involved in planning the event.

Among the proposals for future patrons: "Naming rights to key areas or elements", "Sponsor logos on event signage", "Baskets, snacks/drinks or souvenirs with branded symbols", "Mentions in official event announcements and social media posts", "Recognition in printed or digital event programs" and "Inclusion in press releases and media interviews." Sponsors may also have access to a "by invitation only brunch hosted by FLOTUS at the White House", tickets to the event and a private tour of the White House.

This is not the first time that the Trump White House has openly violated norms and rules from the South Lawn. Earlier this month, the president promoted a selection of Tesla cars accompanied by the company's CEO, Elon Musk.

- the post reads.

According to CNN, private donations cover the costs of artists, music, contractors, equipment and decor. The remainder of the funds raised will go to other similar White House events, such as Halloween and July 4.

At the moment, one sponsor has already been identified for the event on April 21, and additional "successful negotiations" are underway.

The five richest people in the world who attended Trump's inauguration lost $210 billion due to the fall in stock markets. Elon Musk suffered the biggest losses - $145 billion due to the collapse of Tesla shares.
