The presidents of Poland and Ukraine at a meeting within the NATO summit were unable to resolve historical issues, particularly regarding the UPA. Nawrocki stated that the emotions of Poles regarding the "Volyn genocide" are not subject to discussion.

According to him, the meeting lasted about an hour, during which the parties discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral relations and further cooperation.
Recently, there has been great tension around Polish-Ukrainian relations. What has definitely not changed is that for both Ukraine and Poland, the main threat remains the Russian Federation. We are looking in the same direction. As for the threats to our independence, that has not changed. However, we were unable to resolve historical issues at this meeting. We also did not approach (this meeting - ed.) with the hope that all issues would be resolved
He emphasized that the issue of the UPA "is not subject to discussion."
The emotions of Poles regarding the crime, the Volyn genocide, is an issue that is not subject to discussion. ... We count on Ukraine's understanding that the Bandera flag also limits Ukraine's future in the European Union, it carries many negative symbols
He added that he positively assesses the results of the meeting with Zelenskyy, and noted that the conversation was "constructive, as always," and the parties confirmed their positions and discussed prospects for further cooperation.
