Details
Today I had an important meeting in Kyiv with the Deputy Chief of the British Defense Staff for Strategy and Military Operations Harvey Smith. The main topic of the meeting was Ukraine's defense needs
The minister emphasized that Britain has been and remains one of Ukraine's key and most determined allies in the fight against Russian aggression.
It is critically important for us to prevent the accumulation of enemy forces near our territory. It is equally important to be able to destroy military targets in the rear of the Russian Federation with long-range Western weapons. This is perhaps the only way to protect our people from the enemy's KABs and other destructive air strikes
He also emphasized that the world has received enough evidence that Russia understands only force. He called on the partners to demonstrate determination and the availability of the kind of force that will stop the aggressor.
