The Cabinet of Ministers has banned the transfer of ownership, use and change of purpose of land occupied by the Kakhovka Reservoir for the duration of martial law and five years after its end to prevent misuse and enable future restoration of the reservoir drained by Russian aggression.
The Cabinet of Ministers has banned the transfer of ownership or use and change of purpose of the land occupied by the Kakhovka Reservoir. This was announced on the Telegram channel by the government representative in the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnychuk, UNN reports.
In order to prevent misuse of the lands occupied by the Kakhovka Reservoir and to create conditions for further restoration of the Kakhovka Reservoir, which was temporarily drained as a result of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, for the period of martial law and for five years after its termination or cancellation, the formation, transfer of ownership or use and change of purpose of land plots on the lands occupied by the Kakhovka Reservoir are prohibited
At the same time, according to the government's decision, the land of the Kakhovka Reservoir can be transferred for use and its purpose can be changed "for the purpose of further restoration of the Kakhovka Reservoir and construction of hydraulic structures.

In October last year, the Cabinet of Ministers proposed to impose a 15-year ban on the transfer of ownership, use, or change of purpose of the Kakhovka Reservoir lands.
