Ukraine and the United States sign a memorandum on joint military production and data exchange aimed at developing Ukraine's defense industry amid the conflict with Russia.

Following the first day of the Defense Industries Conference DFNC1: US Edition, which is taking place in Washington, D.C. , Ukraine and the United States signed a memorandum on joint production and exchange of technical data. This was reported by UNN with reference to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

 Details

As noted, the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Strategic Industry of Ukraine signed a memorandum with the US Department of Defense on cooperation in joint production and exchange of technical data. The document will help build production capabilities in Ukraine to provide the Armed Forces with the necessary weapons. In particular, critically needed ammunition, the Defense Ministry said.

Ukraine is the only country in the world that is fighting a full-scale war against an enemy with a powerful industry. For us, it is a matter of survival to create a military industry that matches the scale of the enemy's industrial capacity. We need a powerful Industrial Coalition to join forces in the fight against Russian terror

- said Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.

According to the Minister of Strategic Industries of Ukraine Oleksandr Kamyshin,  Ukraine's defense industry regulation is the most favorable for the manufacturer.

We offer our partners to look at the Ukrainian defense industry as an opportunity. An opportunity to open new markets - because in addition to replenishing NATO's stockpiles, after our victory, Ukrainian producers who have experience in the transition from Soviet-style weapons to NATO-standard weapons can transfer this experience to those countries of the Global South that are currently dependent on arms supplies from Russia

- Kamyshin said.
