The government has implemented another IMF recommendation by publishing the National Revenue Strategy until 2030. The document envisages changes in taxation rules, an increase in excise taxes, and the adoption of EU tax and customs rules.

The government has adopted National Revenue Strategy, which is one of the beacons of the International Monetary Fund. This was reported by MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak, UNN reports.

In fact, it is a plan for of changes in the tax and customs sphere and administration until 2030, which should provide more own revenues to the state budget

The strategy envisages changes in the tax and customs sectors and their administration. It is expected that this will help increase the state budget's own revenues.

The MP noted that the strategy provides for a long-term revision of the simplified taxation system taxation, introduction of a progressive personal income tax scale, reduction of tax privileges, in particular on income tax, as well as a gradual increase in excise taxes to to the EU minimum rates.

In customs policy, it is planned to harmonize preferential taxation of of imports from the EU, restore documentary checks, and implement the EU Customs Code, to grant customs authorities the right to conduct operational and investigative activities and pre-trial investigation of smuggling. It also provides for the introduction of administrative liability for violation of customs rules and the implementation of provisions criminalizing smuggling.
