Trump secured bail through the Knight Specialty insurance company. The bail was needed for the court to consider the politician's complaint that he had been found guilty.

In mid-February, the court found the former president guilty of fraud in the valuation of the Trump Organization's assets and ordered him to pay $355 million. Taking into account accrued interest, the fine could reach 454 million.

According to the prosecutor's office, the Trump Organization provided false information about the value of assets in order to obtain favorable conditions for loans and insurance.
