Traces of shrapnel-like damage were found on the tail section of the Embraer 190 plane that crashed in Kazakhstan. A passenger confirmed that an external explosion occurred before the crash, and his life jacket was pierced by a shrapnel.
Damage resembling shrapnel or impactor marks was noticed on the tail of the Embraer 190 aircraft of Azerbaijan Airlines, which crashed near Aktau.
A number of telegram channels published a video of the wreckage, including Baza, reports UNN.

The recording shows the tail section of the plane with holes in it. One of the passengers said that there was an explosion on board before the crash. A passenger of the plane, Subkhonkul Rakhimov, said:
There was an explosion - it didn't look like it was inside the plane. The skin next to me flew off
He also noted that even his life jacket was damaged:
“I picked up my vest, and there was a hole in it - it was hit by a shrapnel.
Some experts emphasize that the nature of the damage is more like damage from air defense systems or shell fragments.

The Baza Telegram channel reported that the Embraer 190 that crashed had been flying for more than 50 minutes with control systems that failed.
Earlier it was known that the front part of the Embraer collapsed and caught fire, but the tail section remained intact.
According to the latest data, 32 people survived the plane crash. The investigation is ongoing.
