Two employees of the Kursk pretrial detention center were notified of suspicion over the cruel treatment of five Ukrainian civilians. They beat them and used electric shocks, violating international humanitarian law.
Two employees of the Kursk pretrial detention center have been notified of suspicion of cruel treatment of Ukrainian civilians who were unlawfully detained in Russia. According to the investigation, they beat the victims with their hands, feet, and a plastic baton, and also subjected them to electric shocks. This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General, UNN writes.
Under the procedural guidance of the Office of the Prosecutor General, two employees of Pretrial Detention Center No. 1 of the Federal Penitentiary Service of the Russian Federation in the Kursk region have been notified of suspicion
According to the investigation, they systematically subjected Ukrainian civilians to physical and psychological violence after they had been unlawfully deprived of their liberty and detained in the territory of the aggressor state as a result of the Russian Federation’s armed aggression against Ukraine.
The facts of cruel treatment of at least five victims have been documented so far.
The suspects subjected them to electric shocks and beat them with their hands, feet, and a plastic baton on various parts of their bodies. The violence was systematic and carried out in violation of the requirements of international humanitarian law.
The actions of the employees of the Russian penitentiary institution have been classified as cruel treatment of the civilian population, in particular, committed by a group of persons acting in prior conspiracy (Part 1, Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
