A spokesperson for the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry announced that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working on a visit to Ukraine. According to Indian media, the visit may take place on August 23, but there is no official confirmation yet.

Preparations are underway for the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Ukraine. This was announced by the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Georgiy Tykhyi during a briefing, an UNN correspondent reports .

When asked whether the Indian Prime Minister would visit Ukraine at the end of August, Tychy replied: "As for Indian Prime Minister Modi. We are working on contacts, meetings, phone calls, and visits all the time. That is, diplomacy never stops working and looking for opportunities to organize a meeting of leaders. Now this work is also ongoing, but I don't want to get ahead of myself.

He noted that he would not  disclose additional details for now.

Indian media outlet WION reported that  Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Kyiv in August. This will be his first visit to Ukraine since the beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian war in 2022. Several sources in New Delhi's diplomatic circles confirmed that it will take place in the third week of August, most likely on August 23.

Prime Minister Modi met with Zelenskyy in June in Italy on the sidelines of the G7 summit. During this meeting, the two sides discussed the current situation in Ukraine, with the Indian Prime Minister emphasizing "dialogue and diplomacy." According to the meeting handout, the prime minister "reiterated that India will continue to do everything possible to support a peaceful solution to the problem.

This was the second such face-to-face meeting between the two leaders since the war - the first took place last year on the sidelines of the G7 meeting in Japan.
