The share of gasoline and hybrid cars in Ukraine increased in April

In April, the share of gasoline cars rose to 39%, while hybrids increased to 33%. Demand for electric vehicles in Ukraine fell from 15% to 9% compared to last year.

Last month, cars with traditional engines accounted for 58% of the new passenger car market. Last year, this figure was 56%. This was reported by Ukravtoprom, according to UNN.

Gasoline models were the most popular, accounting for 39% of new car sales in March, compared to 36% last year. The share of hybrid cars increased from 29% to almost 33%. Diesel cars accounted for 19%, compared to 20% in April 2025. The share of electric vehicles fell from about 15% to 9%. Cars with LPG, as last year, accounted for less than 1% of new car sales.
The leaders by segment were:
- Gasoline cars — HYUNDAI Tucson;
- Hybrids — TOYOTA RAV-4;
- Diesel — RENAULT Duster;
- Electric — BYD Leopard 3;
- Cars with LPG — HYUNDAI Tucson.
