The Verkhovna Rada has rejected five resolutions that blocked the signing of the law on increasing the excise tax on fuel. The draft law will soon be signed by the Speaker of the Parliament and the President, coming into force on September 1, 2024.

The Verkhovna Rada has voted down five resolutions that blocked the signing of a bill to increase the excise tax on fuel starting September 1. In the near future, the bill will be sent for signature to the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk, and then to the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy. This was reported by MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak, UNN reports.

All blocking resolutions on the draft law No. 11256-2 on increasing the excise tax on fuel have been voted down. Therefore, it will soon be signed by the Speaker of the Parliament and the President of Ukraine. Accordingly, it will come into force (as well as the excise tax increase) starting from September 01, 2024

On July 18, the Parliament passed in the second reading the draft law on increasing the excise tax on fuel. After that, MPs introduced 5 resolutions blocking the bill's signing.
