The National Military Memorial Cemetery has a capacity of 150,000 burials, including 100,000 traditional and 50,000 Columban burials, and only certain categories of people, such as Heroes of Ukraine, combatants and those who defended Ukraine's interests, can be buried in this cemetery.

The National Military Memorial Cemetery is designed for 150,000 burials, of which 100,000 are traditional and 50,000 are columbine. This was announced by Deputy Director of the National Military Memorial Cemetery Yaroslav Starushchenko during a briefing on Friday, an UNN correspondent reports.

150,000 is the estimated number of burials at the NGCA, of which 100,000 are traditional burials and 50,000 are Columban burials

- Starushchenko said.

He also commented on the question of who exactly can be buried at the memorial military cemetery.

"The Law of Ukraine "On Burial and Burial Business" defines an exclusive list of persons who may be buried at the National Memorial Military Cemetery, namely: Heroes of Ukraine who, since 2014, have been awarded the Order of the Golden Star, full holders of the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, full holders of the Order of Princess Olga, and full holders of the Order of Courage. All representatives of the troops who have the status of "combatant", those who are recognized as disabled as a result of this bloody aggression, as well as the military who defended Ukraine's national interests in the international arena can also be honored," he says.

Starushchenko added that a civilian who has been demobilized can be buried at the NECC, provided they have the status of a "combatant.

"There is no question at all that civilians who did not participate in repelling Russian aggression will be buried there," he concluded.
