A strong Ukrainian army, supported by Western security guarantees, remains the most important component of the post-war European security architecture, guaranteeing lasting peace in Ukraine and deterring future Russian aggression. This is stated in the material of the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), reports UNN.

Analysts point out that France and Great Britain have stated that they will work on defining and developing "reassurance operations" to deter Russia from future aggression after the implementation of a peace agreement.

At the same time, ISW adds that NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said that it is better to wait with the deployment of peacekeepers in Ukraine until a peace agreement is concluded, while allies should continue to develop ideas now for their implementation after peace is achieved.
