Rosgvardia commander served with a notice of suspicion for torturing a judge in the Kharkiv region. The occupier threatened execution and demanded cooperation with the enemy.
A Russian serviceman has been identified who, during the occupation of the Kharkiv region, tortured a judge and attempted to force him into cooperation with the occupation authorities. This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General, according to UNN.
Under the procedural guidance of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, a 32-year-old commander of a Rosgvardia unit has been notified of suspicion in absentia for his involvement in the torture of a judge from one of the local courts in the Kharkiv region during the occupation of the area,
According to the investigation, in June 2022, the occupiers tried to force the judge to cooperate with the occupation authorities. The man was kidnapped, taken to a torture chamber in the building of the district police department, beaten, threatened with weapons, and demanded to support the occupation regime.
During one of the attacks, Russian servicemen broke into the victim's apartment, beat him, and looted the premises.
"After taking my passports, these occupiers said they had put me on the 'no-exit' lists, which would be held by the military and at their checkpoints. They said if I tried to flee the city, I would be caught, thrown into a basement, or shot on the spot,"
Later, the judge was taken to a dacha, where he was tortured again, shot at over his head, and threatened with execution.
The Russian serviceman is charged with violating the laws and customs of war.
