Rotterdam+ case: second episode sent to court

According to the SAPO, the suspects include two former heads of the National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission.

The second episode of the Rotterdam+ case was sent to court. It accuses 14 people of overpaying electricity consumers by more than UAH 20 billion in 2018-2019, UNN reports with reference to the SAPO.

According to law enforcement, the suspects include two former heads of the National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission. There are also 6 former and two current members of the NEURC, current and former employees of the commission, and 2 current officials of a group of private heat generating companies.

The materials on another former NEURC member have been separated into a separate proceeding, the statement said.

The actions of six people are qualified under Part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Other persons - under Part 2 of Art. 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

On October 26, 2022, 15 people were notified of suspicion, including former and current NEURC officials and officials of a group of private heat generating companies involved in the introduction and application of the so-called Rotterdam+ formula, as a result of which electricity consumers illegally overpaid more than UAH 20 billion in 2018-2019.
