Romanian company Oves Enterprise conducted the first tests of the Sahara cruise missile, which they plan to make the "smartest in the world." The missile weighs 55 kg, has a 10 kg warhead and a range of up to 200 km, and is also equipped with the Nemesis AI artificial intelligence system.

The Romanian private company Oves Enterprise reported the first successful tests of the Sahara cruise missile, which is being developed as a long-range weapon. Defense Express reports this, according to UNN.

The company stated that its goal is "to create the smartest cruise missile in the world." At the same time, no video of the actual test was released, and the report was accompanied by artistic depictions of the missile's flight and a tank being hit.
According to preliminary data, the Sahara weighs approximately 55 kg, has a 10-kg warhead, and a range of up to 200 km. It is planned for use against tanks, air defense systems, ammunition depots, command posts, and communications systems.
The Romanian missile has received artificial intelligence
The developers are also working on longer-range versions of the Sahara. They are expected to have ranges of 500-600 km and 900-1,100 km, respectively, and may also receive more powerful warheads.
One of the missile's features is reportedly the Nemesis AI artificial intelligence system. It is intended to ensure rapid adaptation to the flight mission and increase the satellite navigation system's resistance to interference.
At the same time, Defense Express notes that the use of artificial intelligence in modern missiles is already becoming common practice. Therefore, the claim that this is the "smartest" missile in the world should currently be viewed primarily as the company's marketing statement.
The Sahara project became known in the autumn of 2025. The development is a private initiative of Oves Enterprise: by that time, €1 million had already been invested in the project, while another €2 million was planned for testing and further development of the missile.
