Information about smoke on the top floor of the 4-story building of the Research Institute of Noble and Rare Metals and Diamonds in Irkutsk was received today at 10:58 (5:58 Kyiv time - Ed.). Fifteen people evacuated the building on their own.

Ministry of Emergency Situations personnel and fire-rescue equipment were dispatched to the scene under the second automatic alarm level

By the time the first units arrived, the fire was occurring in one of the offices. Gas and smoke protection service units were deployed. At 8:04, the open fire was extinguished over an area of 700 square meters.

55 personnel and 18 units of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire, including 44 personnel and 14 units of equipment from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations. There are no dead or injured.
