Putin and Trump discussed the Ukrainian issue and prospects for cooperation after the end of the "conflict." The Russian dictator "reminded of the Russian Federation's contribution to the formation of American statehood."
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump held a telephone conversation; Putin congratulated the head of the White House and the entire American people on the country's Independence Day. This is reported by UNN citing Russian media.

It is noted that Putin "described to Trump the real picture on the battlefield, where Russian fighters are advancing along the entire line of combat contact." According to Russian media:
- Putin and Trump touched on the Ukrainian topic, including in the context of the US president's plans to participate in the NATO summit;
- Putin emphasized the advantage of a political-diplomatic settlement in Ukraine, but taking into account fundamental Russian approaches;
- Witkoff and Kushner will continue mediation efforts regarding the settlement in Ukraine;
- Trump, in a telephone conversation with Putin, noted the colossal prospects for cooperation between Russia and the US that will open after the end of the conflict in Ukraine.
It is indicated that the conversation between Putin and Trump took place on the initiative of the American side. At the same time, the Russian dictator "reminded of Russia's contribution to the formation of American statehood."
