Residents of several settlements in Vinnytsia region ignored a meeting of citizens, which, according to the organizers, was supposed to turn into an unauthorized rally with anti-Ukrainian slogans, UNN reports.

This morning, a meeting of citizens was to take place near the Krasnopil village council in Vinnytsia region. The formal purpose of the event was to talk to the village head and deputies about optimizing budget expenditures, and the organizers also demanded an extraordinary session.

In fact, it was planned that the "people's indignation" at the actions of the local authorities would gradually turn into a spontaneous rally with anti-Ukrainian slogans.

People realized the true purpose of the event. Residents of Krasnopilka completely ignored the meeting. Only a few dozen residents of the village of Hraniv came, where the so-called "initiative group" for the meeting had unexpectedly appeared the other day.

Realizing that they would not succeed in stirring up the situation and turning people against the Ukrainian authorities, the organizers quickly offered to support the proposals to improve bus service in the community and build a shelter in the kindergarten and ended the meeting.

Context

UNN, citing law enforcement sources, wrote yesterday that pro-Russian forces in Ukraine aimed to use the gathering to spread Kremlin narratives.

In a commentary to our publication, the head of the initiative group, Andriy Grabovoy, did not hide the fact that one of the active organizers of the potential pro-Russian rally was the former village head of Hraniv, the actual owner of the local agricultural enterprise, Viktor Bodniuk.

Locals call Bodniuk a local all-powerful feudal lord who gets away with everything.

Bodniuk was involved in several high-profile criminal proceedings. In particular, he was suspected of seizing the property of a local agricultural enterprise, tax evasion on a particularly large scale and causing material damage to the state, beating fishermen on a local lake, and brutally killing two dogs.

The former head of Graniv supports the Moscow Patriarchate. Through a jewelry scam, B2B Jewelry is linked to Vinnytsia Regional Council member Gennadiy Mazur.

According to media reports, Bodniuk enjoyed the favor of Viktor Ratushniak, the deputy head of the Yanukovych-era Interior Ministry, who regularly received his share of funds from the former Hraniv head's business. Ratushniak is suspected of involvement in the Maidan shootings and is hiding from the investigation.

Also, according to residents of Hraniv, Bodniuk regularly communicated with a certain Svitlana Sikorska. A month ago, this woman was detained for surrendering air defense positions to the enemy, passing on information about the location of military airfields, critical infrastructure, the movement of military echelons, and so on.

The detainee is the wife of Stepan Sikorsky, former head of the Haisyn District State Administration and District Council.
