Pope Francis sent four ambulances to Ukraine as a gesture of support. This is reported by Vatican News, reports UNN.

Details

In light of the Easter holidays, which this year are once again taking place under the shadow of armed confrontation, the head of the Catholic Church took a step of solidarity with the Ukrainian people. Cardinal Konrad Krajewski, Pope Francis' personal envoy, arrived in the country and delivered four specially equipped medical aid vehicles.

This transport, decorated with the coat of arms of the Apostolic See, is intended for use in those areas of the front where medical assistance is critical.

Cardinal Krajewski set off on his tenth trip to the war zone. He is accompanied by Ukrainian drivers and plans to stay in the country for several days to personally support the civilian population, pray together and convey words of hope from the Pope.

This gesture of mercy takes on special significance in the context of the Jubilee Year of Hope. In a special message for this year, Pope Francis called for concrete actions to restore peace.

The first sign of hope must be the desire for peace in our world, which is once again plunged into the tragedy of war... The need for peace challenges us all and requires concrete steps

- says the bull Spes non Confundit.
