Details
According to pro-Kremlin accounts, a new wave of refugees from Ukraine is storming the Polish-Ukrainian border. Russian propaganda is spreading the word that up to 150,000 people are allegedly arriving in Poland from Ukraine every day. This is twice as many as usual.
Russian channels report that the alleged increase in traffic at the border is caused by Ukrainians' concerns about lowering the age of mobilization.
The Polish Border Guard refutes Russian lies.
According to the spokesperson for the Nadbuzhansky Department of the Border Guard Service, Captain Dariusz Sienicki, border guards have indeed noted an increase in border traffic on the Polish-Ukrainian border over the past week, but this applies to both directions, both to and from Poland. He noted that the increase in traffic is traditionally associated with the Christmas and New Year period, as it is every year.
The Polish Border Guard also states that on no single day were 150 thousand Ukrainian citizens who wanted to enter Poland recorded at the border.
The information about the alleged new wave of refugees on the Polish border is not confirmed by the non-governmental organizations that provide assistance to them.
If the reports that mothers were fleeing Ukraine with their sons in large numbers on the eve of mobilization were true, many more would have started applying to these institutions for legal aid before Christmas, which did not happen
