Pentagon begins large-scale declassification of documents on UFOs and aliens

The Pentagon has announced the start of a large-scale publication of declassified documents related to UFOs, unidentified anomalous phenomena, and possible extraterrestrial life. The US emphasized that the public will be able to independently analyze these materials and draw their own conclusions. This was reported by the Pentagon, according to UNN.

According to a statement from the US Department of Defense, the process of declassifying the documents began following a corresponding directive from US President Donald Trump.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump stated that he ordered the US Department of War and other agencies to begin the process of searching for, identifying, and publishing government materials related to extraterrestrial life, unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP), UFOs, and other materials pertaining to this subject.

"Due to overwhelming interest, I will direct the Department of War and other relevant departments and agencies to begin the process of identifying and releasing government files related to extraterrestrial life, unidentified anomalous phenomena, and UFOs,"

Trump wrote.

The Pentagon stated that this is an "unprecedented historical process" that requires the coordination of dozens of US agencies and the review of tens of millions of documents, some of which exist only in paper form.

The department also noted that the materials will be published in stages—new batches of documents are planned to be released every few weeks.

At the same time, the Pentagon emphasized that these are specifically "unsolved cases" for which the US government cannot provide a definitive explanation.

"This may occur due to insufficient data. The Department of War welcomes analysis, information, and expertise from the private sector,"

the statement reads.

Separately, US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth stated that the Trump administration seeks to ensure "unprecedented transparency" regarding information on unidentified anomalous phenomena.

"These files, hidden behind classifications of secrecy, have for years fueled entirely justified speculation—and it is time for the American people to see it for themselves,"

Hegseth stated.

As a reminder

Donald Trump directed federal agencies to publish government documents regarding extraterrestrial life and unexplained aerial phenomena. This decision followed accusations against Obama regarding the disclosure of classified information concerning aliens.
