253 combat engagements occurred over the past day, most notably in the Pokrovsk and Huliaipole directions. The enemy launched nearly 10,000 drones and carried out 95 airstrikes.
253 combat engagements occurred at the front over the past day, which is slightly more than the day before, with almost a third occurring in two sectors - Pokrovsk and Huiliaipole, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported in its morning briefing on May 22, showing a map of hostilities, UNN reports.

Yesterday, the enemy launched one missile strike using one missile and 95 air strikes, dropping 288 guided aerial bombs. In addition, it deployed 9,655 kamikaze drones and carried out 3,285 shellings of settlements and positions of our troops, including 16 from multiple launch rocket systems.
Over the past day, the aviation, missile forces, and artillery of the Defense Forces hit 12 areas of concentration of enemy manpower and three UAV control points.
Situation by sectors
In the Pivnichno-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk sectors, the aggressor launched three air strikes using seven KABs yesterday, carried out 80 shellings of our troops' positions and settlements, including two using MLRS. Two enemy assault actions were recorded.
In the Pivdenno-Slobozhanskyi sector, the enemy attacked the positions of our units 10 times in the areas of Lyman, Vilcha, Synelnykove, Vovchanski Khutory, and towards Izbytske.
In the Kupyansk sector, the enemy attacked six times, towards Kurylivka, Kivsharivka, Novoplatonivka, Novoosynove, and Hlushkivka.
In the Lyman sector, the enemy tried to wedge into our defense seven times, attacking in the areas of Zarychne, Serednye, and towards Lyman and Shyikivka.
In the Slovyansk sector, the enemy launched four assaults towards Rai-Oleksandrivka, Piskunivka, and in the area of Riznykivka.
In the Kramatorsk sector, the occupiers attacked in the area of Minkivka.
In the Kostiantynivka sector, the enemy carried out 25 attacks in the areas of Ivanopillia, Illinivka, Pleshchiivka, Vilne, Toretske, Rusyn Yar, Stepanivka, and towards Kostiantynivka and Zoloty Kolodiaz.
In the Pokrovsk sector, our defenders stopped 52 assault actions of the aggressor towards the settlements of Zatyshok, Nykanorivka, Rodynske, Novooleksandrivka, Hryshyne, Kotlyne, Kamianka, Serhiivka, Udachne, Molodetske, Novopavlivka, Novopidhorodne, Bilytske, Shevchenko, and Myrne.
In the Oleksandrivka sector, the enemy attacked seven times in the area of Ternove and towards the settlements of Verbove, Dobropillia, and Kalynivske.
In the Huiliaipole sector, the occupiers carried out 28 attacks towards Nove Zaporizhzhia, Dobropillia, Rybne, Zlahoda, Zaliznychne, Tsvitkove, Vozdvyzhivka, Verkhnia Tersa, Staroukrainka, Huiliaipilske, and Charivne.
In the Orikhiv sector, our defenders stopped one attempt by the enemy to advance in the area of Shcherbaky.
In the Prydniprovskyi sector, the enemy conducted three attacks towards the Antonivka Bridge.
In the Volyn and Polissia sectors, no signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups were detected.
