"Omsk Refinery Welcomes New FP-1": General Staff Confirms Strike on Russia's Largest Oil Refinery 2,500 km from Ukraine's Border
Kyiv • UNN
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed a strike on the Omsk Oil Refinery – Russia's largest refinery, located almost 2,500 km from the Ukrainian border. According to preliminary data, a primary oil refining unit was hit, and a fire broke out on the enterprise's premises.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine officially confirmed a successful strike on the Omsk Oil Refinery. The enterprise, which is the largest oil refinery in Russia, is located almost 2,500 km from the state border of Ukraine. The CEO of Fire Point, Iryna Terekh, emphasized that this strike has historical significance, as until now the Omsk Refinery remained one of two enterprises that had never been damaged by Ukrainian drones, reports UNN.
"This is the last of the 11 largest gasoline producers in the Russian Federation that Ukrainian soldiers have struck. It is the most powerful oil refining enterprise in the Russian Federation (over 21 million tons per year) and specializes in the production of a wide range of fuels, lubricants, and petrochemical products. The plant has one of the highest oil refining depth indicators in the Russian Federation (about 99%). The refinery produces high-octane motor gasolines (AI-92, AI-95, G-Drive 100), diesel fuel of the 'Euro-5' class, aviation kerosene (grades TS-1 and RT). It is also a producer of benzene, paraxylene, and orthoxylene, specialized products and lubricants, raw materials for carbon black, motor and industrial oils," the General Staff reports.
The General Staff emphasizes that the Omsk Refinery is involved in meeting the needs of the Russian occupation army. A hit followed by a fire was recorded on the territory of the enterprise.
Fire Point CEO Iryna Terekh called the strike on the Omsk Refinery historic. According to her, until this day it remained one of only two enterprises from the top ten largest oil refineries in Russia that had never been damaged by Ukrainian drones. The second such enterprise remains the Angarsk Petrochemical Company in the Irkutsk region.
"Hopes were placed on it for balancing the fuel crisis after the successful campaign of the Defense Forces of Ukraine. To understand the scale – its capacity is almost twice that of the Moscow Refinery," Terekh noted.
She also drew attention to the fact that the Omsk Refinery is the only enterprise in Russia that produces cracking catalysts – a key component on which secondary oil refining at other Russian refineries depends.

Co-owner and chief designer of Fire Point, Denis Shtilerman, said that a new modification of the Ukrainian long-range drone FP-1 was used during the attack on the Omsk Refinery. On his X page, he laconically wrote: "The Omsk Refinery welcomes the new FP1!".
