Occupiers plan to build power plants and grow crops in closed mines of Donetsk region - CCD

Representatives of the occupation authorities in the Donetsk region continue to voice completely unrealistic ideas, pretending that they plan to develop the economy of the occupied territories. This was reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (CCD), UNN reports.

Details

It is noted that recently the head of the so-called "DPR" government, Andrey Chertkov, spoke about plans to supply mine water to people's taps, and now he has announced the possibility of growing agricultural crops and building power plants directly inside closed mines.

This is a knowingly unfeasible project. In addition to the fact that the implementation of such utopian ideas requires huge investments that no one will provide, Chertkov ignores one inconvenient fact — most of the closed mines in the temporarily occupied territories have long been flooded. Therefore, it is technically impossible to install equipment or set up farms in these underground swamps,

— the CCD points out.

They add that while mines are closing one after another and thousands of miners are left without work, the occupation administration is simulating concern for the region's future, while the true goal of such statements is to create a positive image for Kremlin handlers and distract attention from the collapse of the coal industry.

Recall

Representatives of the occupation authorities in the Donetsk region came forward with another "innovative idea" to overcome the water crisis. In particular, they plan to use mine water for the public water supply.
