Electricity consumption in Ukraine slightly increased, but without deficit

Electricity consumption in Ukraine has slightly increased, but there is no shortage. Electricity is imported from Slovakia, Poland, Romania and Moldova. More than 90,000 consumers are without power due to shelling in Kherson, and 20 settlements are without electricity due to bad weather. This was reported on Wednesday by NPC Ukrenergo and the Ministry of Energy, UNN reports.

Consumption and generation

Yesterday, December 26, the daily consumption peaked in the afternoon. It was 1% higher than at the beginning of the week on December 25.

"Despite the warm weather, the overall level of consumption remains high. Please consume electricity sparingly," the message says.

As indicated, during the day, 3 units at thermal power plants went into emergency repair, and 2 more units were put into routine repair.

"However, at present, the electricity generated by power plants of all types is enough to ensure the power supply to all legal and household consumers," Ukrenergo noted.

"No electricity shortages have been recorded and are not expected for the current day (...) The situation is under control. No blackout schedules are applied," the Energy Ministry said.

Export/import

There are no exports today. Electricity is imported throughout the day from Slovakia, Poland, Romania and Moldova.

De-energization

Due to hostilities and other reasons, 447 settlements remain without electricity.

"The situation in the city of Kherson is difficult: more than 90,000 consumers have been cut off from power due to damage to the power company's networks after massive shelling, and there are also blackouts in the region's settlements," the statement said.

New damages caused by shelling have been reported in the networks of regional power companies in Donetsk and Kharkiv regions.

As of this morning, a total of 20 settlements are without power supply. Of these, 2 settlements in Kharkiv region and 14 settlements in Donetsk region remain without power for more than a day. Over the day, power outages were added in Dnipropetrovska oblast - 4 settlements, Chernihivska oblast - 2 settlements.

Due to technical damages, consumers in Dnipropetrovska and Zaporizka oblasts are without power.
