ICIP of Ukraine included Luhansk wedding braiding ritual to the National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage Sites
The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy (MCIP) reported that it has included the wedding braid ritual in Luhansk region in the National List of Elements of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Ukraine, UNN reports .

The ritual is common in the village of Bilokurakyne, Svatove district, Luhansk region. In Bilokurakyne, many legends, tales, songs, and many proverbs are associated with the maiden's braid. Maiden braids were considered a symbol of external and internal beauty, an indicator of neatness, and a supernatural connection with the universe.
In the region, braids are braided in two rows, adding colored ribbons. Before putting on the wedding wreath, the ceremony was accompanied by ritual songs that praised the maiden's beauty, purity and decency.
