According to a police spokesperson, at least 32 people were killed and 63 injured in an attack by al-Shabab militants on a popular beach in the Somali capital, Mogadishu.
Many of the victims are in critical condition. The attack took place in the Abdiaziz district, where militants opened fire after the explosion.
Al-Shabab, a group that controls large parts of southern and central Somalia, said that politicians and government officials were among the dead.
Police reported that one attacker blew himself up, three were killed, and one was captured alive.
The Somali agency called for blood donations for the victims.
