Kyiv region exposes fraudsters who substituted goods worth over UAH 85,000 at the post office

Two 20-year-old residents of Bucha district switched computer components at the post office. The suspects were detained and face up to 3 years in prison for fraud.

Recently, operatives of the Vyshhorod region exposed a duo of fraudsters who had substituted valuable goods in one of the postal company's branches. The offenders now face up to 3 years in prison.
According to law enforcement, the post office received a parcel with computer components totaling more than UAH 85,000. When the man came to the post office to receive his order, his friend was waiting outside. The customer decided to conduct a preliminary inspection of the parcels. After the inspection, he refused to receive the computer equipment, but took the other parcel and left the branch.
The postal workers noticed that the precious goods had been replaced with a box of similar dimensions and characteristics. This aroused suspicion among postal employees, who immediately notified law enforcement.
Criminal police investigators quickly identified and detained two suspects - 20-year-old residents of Bucha district. They were detained on suspicion of committing fraud by prior conspiracy (Part 2 Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
