Israel will have unlimited influence on the new US administration - Podoliak

The OP Advisor called on Israel to use its influence to strengthen its support for Ukraine. Mykhailo Podoliak also noted the correctness of Israel's tough and uncompromising policy in the international arena.
Israel will have unlimited influence on the new US administration. This was stated by Mykhailo Podolyak, Advisor to the Head of the Presidential Office, during the Kyiv Jewish Forum 2024, and added that he would like Israel to take advantage of this in order not to tolerate the Russian Federation, UNN reports.
"Regarding Ukraine. Personally, I would like Israel to take a much more pro-Ukrainian position, that is, to support Ukraine more, to support Ukraine more firmly in its intentions to punish the Russian Federation at all levels, on all platforms. Why? Because Israel has influence, including unlimited influence on the new US administration. I would like Israel to take advantage of this so that we do not tolerate the Russian Federation," Podoliak said.
According to him, Ukraine would like to receive from Israel more rigorous information support at various levels, at the global level, more rigorous diplomatic support, and advocacy directly in international institutions at various levels.
"Advocacy of Ukraine's position that Ukraine has the right not only to defend its territory using international law, but also the right to strike, for example, at the territory of Russia. I understand that these are complicated issues, but I wanted the position to be unambiguous," Podoliak said.
Podoliak believes that Israel is demonstrating the only possible behavior in the global political arena today.
"Israel is demonstrating what needs to be done. It is defending itself, it has defended itself quite harshly, uncompromisingly, and this is right. This is the only possible model of behavior today...Israel has significantly increased its influence on the global political process. This may not be so obvious today, but it is already a phenomenon that will only gain momentum," Podoliak believes.
Israeli Ambassador to Ukraine Mikhail Brodsky said that there are many common issues that Ukraine and Israel can address together.
"There are a lot of common issues that we can solve together and I am sure that we will do so. We are already doing it, but I am sure there is a huge potential for cooperation between our countries," Brodsky said.
