In Kyiv, for the sixth day, rescuers have been eliminating the contamination of Lake Kyrylivske with petroleum products after the russian shelling. 133 cubic meters of petroleum products have been collected, the area of contamination is 20,600 square meters.

In Kyiv, rescuers have been working continuously for the sixth day at Lake Kyrylivske, eliminating a large-scale oil product pollution of the reservoir that occurred as a result of a Russian shelling on the night of July 2. This was reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, writes UNN.

Currently, the area of water surface pollution is 20,600 square meters, with the thickness of the pollutant film reaching up to 2 cm. To prevent further spread of oil products, rescuers have deployed 550 m of permanent floating booms and 70 m of sorbent booms. In total, SES units have already used 720 m of sorbent booms

The collector between Lakes Kyrylivske and Yordanske has also been blocked to prevent the pollution from spreading further.

In total, as of July 7, 133 cubic meters of oil products have been collected, of which 18 cubic meters were collected just today.

At the site, 55 rescuers, 18 units of equipment, 2 boats, and 3 trailers are working. Scientific and pedagogical staff of the National University of Civil Protection of Ukraine and the Lviv State University of Life Safety are also assisting.
