Brazil's Superior Sports Court has decided to suspend Internacional defender Victor Gabriel for a foul on Cruzeiro winger Gabriel Pec, whose leg Gabriel broke during a match. The Brazilian's disqualification will last until Pec recovers from the injury. This is stated in the sports court's ruling, reports UNN.
The Sixth Disciplinary Commission of the Superior Sports Court for Football has imposed sanctions on Internacional footballer Victor Gabriel for a rough foul against Cruzeiro's Gabriel Pec. The Internacional defender, accused of rough play, was punished with a six-match disqualification, with the penalty term extended until Pec returns to training, but not exceeding 180 days
It is reported that in the 15th minute of the match between the teams, according to the match report, Gabriel was sent off with a straight red card for hitting an opponent with "excessive force" while contesting the ball. Due to this foul, Gabriel Pec had to be substituted during the match as he suffered a cut on his leg.
After the match, an examination revealed a fracture of the left tibia of the Cruzeiro forward, who underwent surgery.
I thought I would reach the ball first, and that's what happened. Since the field was quite slippery and wet, I hit the ball but couldn't pull my leg back in time, resulting in a somewhat harder tackle, but without any intention to harm my fellow professional or malice. I have always been an honest guy and took to the field primarily to defend my club and my dream. I have always tried to be as honest as possible with my teammates and opponents. It was a completely unfortunate episode. I apologized to him and offered my help. May he forgive me, because I had no intention, and all I could do at that moment was pray for him. Since that night, very difficult days have come for me. I have prepared my whole life for moments of happiness, and now I wake up in the middle of the night
