High electricity consumption in Ukraine, restrictions for business will be lifted in the evening - Ukrenergo
Kyiv • UNN
High electricity consumption has been recorded in Ukraine, leading to a power shortage. NPC Ukrenergo has temporarily restricted supplies to industry and business from 7:00 to 20:00.
Electricity consumption in Ukraine remains high, and to overcome the power shortage in the power system, restrictive measures have been temporarily introduced for industry and business, according to NPC Ukrenergo, UNN reports.
Details
"Consumption remains high. Today, on November 13, as of 6:30 a.m., its level was 1% higher than at the same time on the previous day - Tuesday, November 12," the report said.
It is indicated that during the hours of maximum consumption in the morning and evening, the power system has a significant power deficit.
"Please consume electricity sparingly throughout the day. Do not turn on several powerful electrical appliances at the same time from 7:00 to 22:00," the NPC urged.
Restrictions
"Due to a short-term decrease in the capacity of shunting generation, a significant decrease in electricity imports and low efficiency of solar power plants in cloudy weather, power limitation schedules (PLS) for industry and business have been introduced in all regions of Ukraine today. The restrictions will be in effect from 7:00 to 20:00. In the evening, after the equipment has been repaired, the LOCs will be canceled. No restrictions are foreseen for household consumers," the NPC said.
According to the Ministry of Energy, "the power system is still balanced, and damage to the infrastructure complicates its functioning."
"Temporary power restrictions for non-household consumers, introduced today by the transmission system operator, will be canceled after the remarks are eliminated. No restrictions will be applied to household consumers and critical infrastructure," the Ministry of Energy also emphasized.
Over the past day, power engineers restored power to 9698 consumers who were cut off as a result of hostilities.
Import
It will be supplied throughout the day from Romania, Slovakia, and Hungary. The total volume is 1,609 MWh, with a maximum capacity of up to 115 MW in some hours.
Situation at ZNPP
"The water level in the cooling pond is 14.14 meters. This is enough to meet the needs of the plant," the Ministry of Energy said.
