Head of EU diplomacy responds to the idea of peacekeepers in Ukraine

EU High Representative Kaja Kallas said that a peacekeeping mission is possible only after peace is achieved. According to her, Russia does not demonstrate a desire for a peaceful settlement of the conflict.
High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas said that sending peacekeepers to Ukraine is impossible without peace, and Russia does not want it, UNN reports.

"First there has to be peace to send peacekeepers, and Russia doesn't want peace, it's very clear - I mean, if you look at the interviews of Lavrov (Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov - ed.), for example, to Tucker Carlson - I mean, they, you know, haven't moved away from their goals, so we can't discuss it," Kallas said, arriving at the first meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council in her new position.
