According to Komarov, the issue is not technology, but the fact that any organization can have people who conditionally guide Russian missiles or give away their passwords because social engineers work well.

Hackers managed to breach the security of one of the national mobile operators Kyivstar through a compromised account of one of its employees. This was announced by Kyivstar CEO Oleksandr Komarov during a telethon, a UNN correspondent reports.

"We have to admit that this attack has breached our defense. This happened because the account of one of our employees was compromised and the enemy was able to get inside the company's infrastructure. The investigation is underway, and we do not yet understand its conclusions," Komarov said.

According to him, the issue is not in technology, but in the fact that any organization can have people who conditionally guide Russian missiles or give away their passwords because social engineers work well.

Komarov previously reportedthat the IT infrastructure was partially destroyed.

The Security Service of Ukraine has opened a criminal investigation into a cyberattack on one of the national mobile operators Kyivstar. The agency does not rule out that Russian special services may be behind the attack.

Kyivstar started restoring voice communications across Ukraine at 18:00 and plans to resume data and SMS transmission within a day after that. The company advises restarting phones and disabling VoLTE for better connectivity.
