Kobakhidze believes that Gorchinsky allegedly " directly participated in the election campaign in favor of the radical opposition and against the ruling team." He accused the EU ambassador of"gross violation of the Vienna Convention and the principles of democratic elections.
According to the prime minister, Gerchinsky was also "involved in a disinformation campaign" that followed a statement about freezing the opening of EU accession negotiations. This, Kobakhidze believes, was manifested in what the diplomat interpreted as the termination of European integration. In fact, as he claims, the Georgian authorities did not abandon the European course.
"For some time, we refrained from a diplomatic response to such events, but everything has its limits, and if we do not see a change in behavior on such facts in the future, both on the part of the EU ambassador and other relevant ambassadors, we will definitely respond. We are talking about a diplomatic reaction," Kobakhidze said.
Earlier it was reported that the Georgian government refuses to start negotiations with the European Union until the end of 2028.
