A suspicious letter addressed to Interior Minister Geraldine Darmanin and the city of Roubaix was discovered in France. According to preliminary analyzes by the technical and scientific police, traces of plague were found in the letter.

The letter, which had no francs, aroused suspicion because it contained racial slurs and black powder. The first tests showed a slight positive for the plague.

At the same time, representatives of the Côte d'Or prefecture warned that these results could be false positives. The substance was sent to the Pasteur Institute for additional analysis, the results of which are expected to be released late Monday afternoon.

The author of the letter has not yet been identified. The Dijon prosecutor's office announced the launch of a judicial investigation into public insult, which is being conducted by the territorial department for combating crime.
