A drop in electrical voltage was felt for a few seconds in several districts of Bucharest around 11:35 PM.

The capital's General Mayor, Ciprian Ciucu, announced on Tuesday that after the explosion at CET West, start-up operations began at the Grozăvești Thermal Power Plant (CET Grozăvești) facilities, and hot water supply would resume within parameters by midnight.
"At this moment, CET West is stopped. Commissioning works have begun at the CET Grozăvești facilities, and two hot water boilers have already been launched," the mayor of the Romanian capital wrote on his Facebook page.
The cause of the incident that occurred at the thermal power plant in Bucharest on Monday evening was a malfunction of the power grid at the 6 kV substation, ELCEN announced on Tuesday, stating that the malfunction did not affect electricity consumers.
