Euroclear announces first €1.55 billion tranche of Russian assets for Ukraine in July

Euroclear will make the first payment of EUR 1.55 billion to the European Fund for Ukraine in July 2024. An additional EUR 836 million of corporate taxes related to Russian assets will be paid to Belgium.
The Belgian securities depository Euroclear will make the first payment of 1.55 billion euros from the proceeds of seized Russian assets to the European Fund for Ukraine in July 2024, the depository said on Friday, UNN reports.
In July 2024, Euroclear will make the first payment of EUR 1.55 billion to the European Fund for Ukraine following the recent implementation of the EU contingency regulation
"Euroclear ... will shortly make the first payment of €1.55 billion to the European Fund for Ukraine," said Valerie Urben, CEO of Euroclear .
It is stated that "this is in addition to the 836 million euros of corporate income taxes related to the Russian assets" that are to be paid to the Belgian state in the first half of 2024.
