On the morning of April 18, drones attacked Novokuibyshevsk in Russia's Samara region. An oil refinery is located there, and it was the target of the attack. This was reported on Telegram by Petro Andryushchenko, head of the Center for Occupation Studies, according to UNN.

Videos of the strikes appeared online. In addition, local residents reported a series of powerful explosions accompanied by bright flashes.
According to Russian "media", based on geolocation data, the fire most likely occurred at the ELOU-AVT-6 (AVT-11) unit.

The Novokuibyshevsk oil refinery is located in the Samara region. It is part of the PJSC "NK "Rosneft" group. The company's headquarters are located in Novokuibyshevsk. The refinery's capacity is 8.8 million tons of oil per year.
Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Novokuibyshevsk oil refinery has been supplying petroleum products to Russian invaders, including producing fuel for Russian Tu-22M3 aircraft.
This plant has been repeatedly attacked by Ukrainian drones. This happened in 2025 and early 2026.
