Special forces turned on water cannons to push people away from the Georgian parliament building. Law enforcement officers also used tear gas and pepper spray.
In response to these harsh methods, the protesters threw various objects at the police.
Local media report about the wounded, their number is being specified. Now the detentions of protesters have begun. Security forces cleared the territory in front of the Georgian Parliament. Instead, the demonstrators began building barricades and setting up bonfires.
The Ministry of internal affairs of Georgia said that the action went beyond the law.
"The rally near the Parliament went beyond the norms established by law, participants of the rally threw various objects in the direction of law enforcement officers, as a result of which three employees of the Ministry of internal affairs were injured. The police resorted to the measures established by law and used special means",
The Ministry of internal affairs calls on each participant of the rally not to commit illegal actions and obey the instructions of law enforcement officers.
